First Xshielder units shipped!
Xshielder has officially begun shipping and the first devices have been delivered to Aker BP, one of the leading operators on the Norwegian continental shelf.
This delivery follows a close partnership with Aker BP, who has been intrigued by our product idea from an early phase. Aker BP has supported Xshielder during our development phase in various ways. Their support and feedback during our R&D process had a huge positive impact for us. The result is a the new rugged, Zone 1 certified smartphone cover. With Xshielder’s patented cover, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is now safe to use in hazardous areas.

Supporting Aker BP’s digital fieldworker program
Aker BP is changing how fieldwork gets done. Through their Digital Fieldworker initiative, they’re replacing slow, manual routines with mobile tools that allow field teams to work faster, more accurately, and with quicker access to data.

With Xshielder, field workers can easily manage permits, checklists, work orders, documentation, and support through mobile apps — replacing paper and disconnected tools. In the coming months, Aker BP will roll out 750 Xshielder devices across their operations. The devices will be used daily offshore and onshore, supporting teams working in hazardous areas.
Developed together, built for the field
From the start, this product has been shaped by real feedback. Aker BP has been hands-on from early development to final testing. Their team helped ensure the device meets practical requirements by testing prototypes in the field. The tests provided us with useful insights on user friendliness, performance and integration with existing digital systems, cybersecurity and IT platforms.
The Xshielder cover is designed and manufactured in Norway. We have received an amazing interest from other clients and look forward to continue to serve the Norwegian continental shelf with more devices. For Xshielder, this is more than a product launch, it’s the beginning of a new journey, and proof that safety and performance can go hand in hand when industry and product teams work together.
